It's All About Finding What You Need

That Feeling When You Have An Organized Woodworking Shop

The shop space has finally come together organized woodworking shop just makes everything more enjoyable. It's like walking into the room with a tree full of presents on Christmas!

From the time I walk into the basement or garage shop, I know where everything is and can get right to work, rather than have to hunt for a tool, or make space for the project I am working on.

It is so much better than when I was in just the basement. I had about 60 square feet to work in. It was tight, cramped, and really not enjoyable as a space.

With the addition of the garage space (which started as a single stall space), I have been able to up my tool game. Consequently I got a proper table saw, build a lumber rack, expand into the second stall, and add more tools and bench space.

All leading to a much, much more enjoyable woodworking experience. It helps get better at your craft when you have a better work area. I don't care what anyone says.

Tools

I have also reached the point where I have most of the tools "I need". Now I am going to start upgrading from the cheap versions or secondhand versions I scored from CL and garage sales to better quality tools.

Almost all the power and hand tools I have are used, or extremely inexpensive. As a result I haven't really experienced what it's like to work with high quality tools. I want to change that.

So, it's on to acquiring the "want" tools and future needs. And, I am going to try and keep an organized woodworking shop. That part alone will help me become a better woodworker.

It's going to be a very productive year!
